James (Jim) Meehan has served as our General Counsel since 2005. He leads the Legal & Regulatory Division, bringing more than 26 years of experience in practicing law, with focus and expertise in the insurance industry.

Prior to joining our operation, Jim served as General Counsel for Kemper Casualty Insurance Company. Previous positions also include Senior Vice President and General Counsel for CIGNA and Tax Commissioner and Consumer Counsel for the State of Connecticut.

Jim received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut Law School. A member of the Connecticut Bar Association, he earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona.
